Photos From Past Doc's Meets!

Doc's Meet 2017 (May 12-14)

The meet begins at the 4H Educational Center outside Front Royal, Va., with a potluck dinner on Friday afternoon. Due to damp weather we held our potluck in one of the Center's enclosed rooms

Saturday morning offered meet-goers a choice: the traditional drive to nearby Winchester, Va., to see the AACA Apple Blossom car show, or a driving tour to see a private car collection. Here we are on Route 11, on the driving tour.

Our arrival at the collection. The cars are mostly 1960's through 1980's "standard" makes and models, but tend to be unusal versions of these. Like ultra-low mileage cars, or limited versions. Some of the cars are just plain off the wall!

This one-of-a-kind Metropolitan station wagon was built by the collection's owner. In tow is a former pedal boat used in a park; it's been tricked out as a classic wooden speedboat, and a battery powered electric drill now propels it! Photo by Shae Leighland Pence

Here's a rare 401 c.i.d. version of an AMC Pacer. It also has very low mileage. There are about 50 cars in the collection

How about an '82 Porsche with a jet engine? (No, not a Hudson Jet engine!)

After viewing the collection the group adjourned to a nearby Eagles club to enjoy some lunch!

On Sunday morning Hudsons assembled on the grounds of the Skyline Caverns for the traditional Hudson show and flea market. The threat of rain drove attendance down this year (both in terms of people and cars) but precipitation ended on Saturday afternoon, and Sunday morning was sunny and warm. Participants this year came from nine states, driving from as far as Indiana and Massachusetts. Hudsons ranged in year from 1941 to 1954.
